Forms Development Tool
With the Forms Development Tool, administrative users can create online forms from scratch or use one of the CivicPlus template forms. Each form can be customized to look similar to its paper-based counterparts and can be set to collect submitted answers by making the form a "database form."
The Forms Development Tool can be used by itself or in conjunction with the ePayment Center or the Citizen Request Tracker.

+ No "for office use only" field: Using the "Header/Instructions" field type, you can designate an area that is for office use only.

| + Does not calculate any fields: Like many of our modules, the Forms Development Tool offers critical, core functionality for web-enabled forms. There are tools that will handle advanced features like auto-calculation; however, they often cost as much as the website to license the software. Although the Forms Development Tool is lacking some advanced features, the data can easily be exported and calculated in the software of your choice. |
| + Module cannot be used for quizzes or tests. -- does not allow for a correct answer to be automatically verified: Answer verification can be accomplished through exporting the data from our CMS and importing it into a tool that can validate answers. Future versions of the Forms Development Tool will take this functionality into consideration. |
| + Form layout can be difficult to work with: CivicPlus can be contracted (for a fee) to create a form. All of our manuals and training webinars are available through CivicPlus University. |
| + Module does not allow multiple paths to be taken depending on choices: It’s easy to copy and modify existing forms if you need multiple versions with varying fields. Automatic routing may be added in future versions of the Forms Development Tool. |
