News Flash
In the News Flash module, you can choose to post as many news flashes as you need. Each of the news flashes can "live" on as many pages as necessary, and will filter back into the main News Flash module page.
Each news flash can give web users the option to sign up for news notifications or updates (this option is turned on by default but can be turned off per news flash) via RSS feeds or email and/or text messaging through the Notify Me module.

Client Testimonials
"The Parks and Recreation Department really loves the News Flash a lot. It has been a really wet June for us and games have been canceled a lot. It is so easy for them to tell people about cancelations through the News Flash module. They actually added it to their Parks and Recreation brochure so people start using the website more."
Melissa Brinson, Town Clerk | Tonawanda, NY |
"The most beneficial aspects are Notify Me, News Flash and social networking. They are really big aspects of our website now. We now have a really good medium to communicate to our citizens. There is so much versatility and usability."
Jon Nicks, Neighborhood Services Coordinator | Placentia, CA |
Examples of How This Module Can Be Used
+ Emergency updates
+ News and announcements, including road closures and parks and rec cancelations
Potential Enhancements
+ Display on the front-end may be limited; ie: short description in featured area or headline in feature column only: As with most of our modules, the NewsFlash has set display modes that work across all of our sites; the way a news area displays can be somewhat affected during the initial design of the site
+ Module doesn't have an editor: We are exploring the option of installing editor capabilities in News Flash
+ Have to use HTML in some places or request parameter changes through CivicPlus: Simple formatting is done to keep the module easy-to-use with consistent formatting to minimize potential errors
