Each listing can have contact name, address, phone number, a link to map, web address, picture and description.

Features

+ Import listings already created
+ List and search by category or in alphabetical order
+ Map locations
+ Categorize listings for filtering

Client Testimonials
“We use our resource directory as a business list for the county. We sent out letters to each business to see if they were interested in being listed on our website. We sent a questionnaire and asked for basic contact info along with what categories they want to be listed in. We received a great response from our local businesses and now the Resource Directory can help anyone find what they need.”

Sherry Massey, Director of Administration and Emergency Services  |  Dickinson County, KS
“The resource directory allows us to advertise universally. We are interested in promoting  economic growth throughout the county and the resource directory is a great help in doing  that.”

Sherry Massey, Director of Administration and Emergency Services | Dickinson County, KS

Examples of How This Module Can Be Used
+ Listing of businesses and contacts throughout the community

Potential Enhancements
+ No built-in ability to add photos: You can add photos by using HTML in the description of the listing, which has worked for many of our clients.
+ Businesses cannot create profiles and add their own listings: Currently, the module can only be administered by the client; however, future iterations of this module will include this.
+ On the back-end, the module does not function in the same category/item manner as most other modules: The resource directory is handled differently from other modules; single entries may fit into multiple categories, so a traditional setup does not work for this module.
+ If a directory listing is changed or deleted, it does not affect a page that may have also been created and linked to from that directory listing: Pages are separate from modules, and while we can see benefits of tying them together in instances such as this, it is rare for our clients to have more detailed pages associated with directory listings. Additionally, such integration of the two functionalities may create permission issues that could be difficult to anticipate, but frustrating when encountered. Altering pages that have been manually associated with a directory listing must also be accomplished manually.
