CivicPlus Earns Position Among Inc. 5000 for Seven Years in a Row

Inc. magazine has included CivicPlus® in the 36th annual Inc. 5000, the most prestigious ranking of the nation's fastest-growing private companies. The list represents a unique look at the most successful companies within the American economy’s most dynamic segment—its independent small and midsized businesses.

“We are pleased to be recognized for the seventh consecutive year among the Inc. 5000,” said CivicPlus President Brian Rempe. “As an employer, and as an organization committed to offering its clients the integrated technology platform for local government, this recognition reaffirms to us that we are meeting our goal of continually growing and evolving to offer competitive solutions and career opportunities.”

The 2017 Inc. 5000 is the most competitive crop in the list’s history. The Inc. 5000’s aggregate revenue is $206 billion, and the companies on the list collectively generated 619,500 jobs over the past three years. In 2017, CivicPlus reported 61% three-year growth, earning it a position among the fastest-growing, privately owned providers of government services.

According to Rempe, CivicPlus only intends to continue growing, evolving, and pushing the creative limits of its software and solutions to ensure it remains competitive in the government software space.

“While we appreciate the recognition by Inc. magazine, we do not intend to remain complacent with our current level of success,” said Rempe. “Our entire company is hard at work conceptualizing and building even greater solutions to ensure we continue to grow so that we continue to meet the evolving needs of local government.”

Methodology

The 2017 Inc. 5000 is ranked according to percentage revenue growth when comparing 2013 to 2016. To qualify, companies must have been founded and generating revenue by March 31, 2013. They had to be U.S.-based, privately held, for profit, and independent—not subsidiaries or divisions of other companies—as of December 31, 2016. (Since then, a number of companies on the list have gone public or been acquired.) The minimum revenue required for 2013 is $100,000; the minimum for 2016 is $2 million. As always, Inc. reserves the right to decline applicants for subjective reasons. Companies on the Inc. 500 are featured in Inc.'s September issue. They represent the top tier of the Inc. 5000, which can be found at http://www.inc.com/inc5000.
