When Every Second Counts, be CivicReady

In times of emergency, citizens turn to their local government first for reliable information and potentially life-saving instructions. That means you need the ability to communicate effectively and reach as many citizens as possible during a crisis event. CivicReady is an easy-to-use, comprehensive emergency mass notification system that allows local governments to distribute emergency notifications through multiple communication channels. Emergency management, local government administrators, and fire and police department personnel can easily integrate CivicReady into their emergency preparedness and response plans.

Our innovative cloud-based system enables you to communicate trusted and timely information during an emergency, whether the threat is a natural disaster, a fire, an active shooter, or some other imminent threat to your citizens. CivicReady integrates with IPAWS, offers geo-targeting, and IVR polling capabilities.

To ensure your messages reach the greatest number of potentially-impacted citizens timely, no matter where they are, its robust platform leverages:

The Integrated Public Alert and Warning System (IPAWS)

Created by FEMA (Federal Emergency Management Agency), IPAWS leverages national emergency communication channels to provide area-specific alerts in times of emergency. IPAWS enables you to reach as many people as possible, including those who have not opted-in to text, phone, or email communications, as well as travelers and visitors in your area. It’s capable of sending notifications to cell phones without being delayed by network congestion. It can interrupt local TV and radio broadcasts to share important notifications. It can even post notifications to digital road signs and various other locations instantaneously.

Geo-targeted notifications via Environmental System Research Institute (ESRI) Mapping

Local government entities and emergency departments can easily and quickly communicate with public safety personnel and citizens based on their location using ESRI mapping technology. Simply draw a multi-point polygon shape on a map of your community to define the boundaries of your message. By defining a geographical communication area, you have the greatest flexibility in targeting communications, which means when citizens do receive an alert, they will notice and act. From localized power outages, to road construction projects, to wildfires, and criminal activity, geo-targeting enables municipalities to quickly alert individuals in the affected area via mobile (text/voice) phone, landline phone, email, social media, and many other channels.

Two-Way Communications

When disaster strikes, you need open communication channels with your personnel. Our real-time interactive voice response (IVR) polling allows you to gather immediate information from your staff before, during, or after an impactful event. Such access to feedback improves the decision-making process. From an emergency response perspective, CivicReady’s two-way communication features let you identify the location and availability of needed resources. Those at the scene of an event can request additional personnel and resources, confirm request approval, and provide timely reporting from ground zero.

Automated Notifications

Automated, content-triggered messaging expedites communications when anticipated events occur. Our automation features empower you to predetermine which parameters and preconfigured rules will automatically trigger an alert. CivicReady works seamlessly with existing processes and systems to automate emergency notification protocols to accelerate the broadcasting of critical alerts and mitigate the risk of human error. CivicReady can automatically broadcast critical alerts via messaging API, IPAWS, National Weather Service (NWS) and National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) integration, website posts, and other automated ad hoc messaging.

Conference Bridge

In a crisis, local government administrators need to be able to alert and convene key personnel instantly. With CivicReady’s conference bridge capabilities, you won’t have to worry about how long it will take to gather key personnel onto a conference call. A conference bridge connects decision makers to one another on a unified call within seconds to enable urgent next step planning.
