CivicSummit 2021: The Life-Saving Power of FEMA’s IPAWS

Ninety percent of local governments are not as prepared as they could be with the help of the Federal Emergency Management Agency's (FMEA) Integrated Public Alert and Warning System (IPAWS). IPAWS is a necessity for local governments to most effectively communicate emergencies and yet so few are equipped to do so. We will explore the reasons for this gap and provide practical assistance to help communities using IPAWS and those who are not yet certified.
