CivicPlus was named the Kansas Tech Community Innovator of the Year at the first annual Ad Astra Technology Summit. The Summit was hosted by membership group and technology industry advocates FlagshipKansas.Tech in Wichita on September 12. It offered a forum for industry leaders, startups, government officials, and educators to converge and discuss such topics as digital skills development, apprenticeship programs, and new and startup business enablement in the Sunflower State.

In a press release issued on the event website, Luis Rodriguez, current chair of FlagshipKansas.Tech’s board of directors stated, “Our state is poised to continue to draw tech companies away from the coasts while growing the tech companies and talent already here. It’s time to go all-in, with the energy and unshakeable belief that if we work together, Kansas can be wildly successful in tech.”

Ben Sebree, CivicPlus Vice President of Research and Development and Technology and FlagshipKansas.Tech executive board member stated that CivicPlus was honored to be recognized with such a prestigious award in a state rapidly becoming known as an emerging technology corridor.

“CivicPlus has been a leader in government technology for over 20 years, and we are still pushing the limits of innovation,” said Sebree. “I am proud to work for a company that is bringing technology jobs to Kansas, supportive of a diverse and inclusive workforce, and fosters the development and upskilling of future mid-west technologists.”
