Centerville, UT, needed a solution that would effectively and efficiently handle its online code of ordinances and museum policies. Before partnering with CivicPlus® (formerly Municode), the City’s leaders wanted ordinances and policies to be accessible online, reduce paper costs, and increase transparency for residents.
In 2021, CivicPlus acquired Municode. Today, Municode's solutions, including Online Code Hosting, are part of the integrated CivicPlus Civic Experience Platform.
To achieve its goals, Centerville enlisted the help of Municode and its Online Code Hosting solution with its included Policies and Procedures functionality. The system allowed City staff to handle four different books in one place:
- Code of Ordinances
- Zoning Code
- Fee Schedule
- Whitaker Museum Policies.
All four utilize a robust search engine, allowing residents to find what they need quickly. The software enables staff to download sections of their code onto their desktops for modification, ditching the old paper-based method. Changes may also be proposed online, simplifying the process even further.
