St. Anthony, Idaho, wanted to modernize its numerous publications by utilizing a digital platform. Its leaders also wanted each one to be available online for residents to view.

St. Anthony has eight distinctive publications: Municipal Code, Municipal Resolutions, Public Notices, Agendas, Minutes, Financial Reports, Newsletters, and Proclamations.

The City’s old methods of handling each proved tedious and inefficient. Files and documents were scattered across multiple places, making the process of editing, revising, drafting, or voting on any publication time-consuming. Uploading these to their municipal website was just as time-consuming as staff had to scan each page individually into a downloadable PDF. Though residents could view the publications, they were not searchable and required residents to navigate multiple pages to find relevant information.

Realizing the need for a singular approach to all of their publications, St. Anthony sought out the help of CivicPlus (formerly Municode) and its Policies & Procedures Software. Now, the staff has a digital and quick approach to handling its code of ordinances. Drafting, revising, editing, and collecting approval are done through the platform, empowering staff to effectively manage their publications and ensure they are always up to date.

Though they all exist on the same platform, each publication can utilize separate, customizable workflows and assign role-based permissions. This convenience gives staff flexibility in managing their publications, which is why St. Anthony has such an easy time handling so many pieces of content simultaneously. All eight publications are available in one place and include a unified search engine, allowing residents to find what they need effortlessly.
