Meet Krystal Johnston, the City Clerk of Kennewick, whose journey in local government began in the previous millennium. With over 21 years dedicated to the City Clerk’s office, Krystal has become a cornerstone of the municipal community, always ready to assist with her extensive knowledge and experience.

Currently serving as the president of the South Central Washington Municipal Clerk’s Association, Krystal’s focus is on delivering tactical and meaningful training to her fellow clerks. Her expertise is particularly evident in her adept use of CivicPlus products for nearly two decades. Her recent engagement with CivicClerk since 2023 has only expanded her digital capabilities.

Krystal is passionate about balancing the evolving demands of local governance with the consistent rhythm of its cyclical duties. She firmly believes that all branches of government operate more effectively when professionalism and transparency are prioritized. Her commitment to these principles is evident in the trainings she designs—each one crafted to foster an environment where learning is effective, engaging, and fun!
