Joseph Porcelli

Global Public Agency and Disaster Response Lead, Nextdoor

Joseph joined Nextdoor in May 2014. In his role, Joseph manages local, state, and federal relationships and crisis response in the U.S. and Canada. He is also an internal partner to global public agency teams and country managers. Before joining Nextdoor, Joseph created and managed the Preparedness Community on behalf of the U.S. Federal Emergency Management Agency. He also served as the nation’s first community engagement strategist for the Department of Homeland Security, led online operations for the ServiceNation campaigns, and worked as a civilian in the Neighborhood Watch Unit at the Boston Police Department. Joseph received a Bachelor of Arts in marketing and business management at Saint Michael’s College and a Nonprofit Management and Leadership Certificate at the Questrom School of Business. He also participated in Harvard’s National Preparedness Leadership Initiative, for which he now serves as a Global Ambassador.
