The City of Seguin, Texas

In January 2023, the City of Seguin launched a complete redesign of its website to better match its rapid growth and evolving needs. Recognizing the City’s shift from a rural area to one of the fastest-growing communities in the nation, the redesign aimed to address the increasing demand for city services and improve communication. Partnering with CivicPlus®, Seguin created a unique and vibrant website that reflects the city’s culture and branding. The redesign, developed with CivicPlus and an internal committee, represents a significant departure from a generic layout, incorporating elements that resonate with the City’s ethos and dynamic character.

The new website has greatly enhanced the civic experiences in Seguin, reflected by the significant increase in web page views and in turn, has improved resident access to information. The user-friendly design has made critical data, such as the housing dashboard showcasing new subdivisions and homes, much easier to find. Public transparency made significant improvements by making key documents and plans now more accessible. The website also features specialized pages for popular departments, including a library catalog, quick links for virtual services, and a comprehensive calendar of community events. Overall, the redesign has strengthened the City’s online presence, reflecting its values and enhancing engagement with both residents and visitors.
