Transforming Civic Access: Clemson, South Carolina Unveils Next-Generation Website with CivicPlus
New accessible website ensures seamless access to services and stronger connections for Windsor’s 47,000 residents
MANHATTAN, KS – September 16, 2025 — CivicPlus®, a public sector SaaS leader, has announced its partnership with the City of Clemson, South Carolina, in launching its newly redesigned municipal website. Nestled in the foothills of South Carolina, the City of Clemson is a vibrant small town populated by a 28,000‑student university community and 18,000 local residents. The city recognized the need for improved, accessible, and real-time information especially when the community is met with an influx of visitors for gamedays or faced with interruptions in normal operations.
Recognizing these challenges, Clemson partnered with CivicPlus to launch a newly redesigned municipal website that keeps everyone from lifelong residents to first‑time visitors connected.
Key enhancements of the new site include:
- Real‑Time Event and Traffic Alerts: Up‑to‑the‑minute road closures, crowd management notifications, and weather and storm alerts.
- Agenda Center: Current agendas and minutes for all boards and commissions, keeping the public updated on civic initiatives.
- Arts, Culture, and Recreation: Spotlighting local landmarks like the Clemson Area African American Museum, City of Clemson Arts Center, and the Central Clemson Recreation Center.
- Integrated Bill Payment and Government Tools: Seamless access to utility payments, permit applications, and other essential services including Bid Module which helps the city track all projects.
- Parks and Recreation Management (Coming Soon): Access online registration and resident details for camps, youth and senior programs, as well as 14 parks, sports courts, dog parks, soccer fields, and more.
“Clemson’s new website reflects the very best of what CivicPlus aims to deliver: a resident-centric digital hub that enhances engagement and strengthens trust,” said CivicPlus Vice President of Product, Julie Sargent. “By including real-time communication and self-service tools, Clemson is able to better service their cities and take tangible steps toward success.”
The City of Clemson also elected to purchase the CivicPlus NextRequest solution, to help manage the city’s 400% rise in public records requests. This critical tool enables residents to track and submit FOIA requests easily, while providing city administrators with analytics and workflow automation to manage increased demand without overextending staff.
“Our new website has become the day-to-day hub our community has been waiting for,” said City of Clemson Clerk, Jeremiah Jackson. “With public records requests up 400%, NextRequest has been essential in boosting our operations. Its analytics help us respond to inquiries faster than ever, while also ensuring we meet all deadlines.”
