Municipal Websites

Before, it was just a website, now, residents go there intentionally knowing they’ll find information they need. That transformation was something that was very important to all of us here at the city. We wanted our homepage to be inviting and modern.

We want the best website, we want to drive to that goal. The goal is to win the best website of the year award. That is the stated goal, we may not win it, but that is the intention.’ We wanted it to look the most professional; we wanted it to have cool things that happen aesthetically; we wanted the design team to feel free to step out of bounds and try new things with us. We were not looking for an out-of-the-box solution, we wanted to push the envelope a little bit and present something cutting edge, because our residents would be receptive to that. Our residents are excellent in their careers. They’re sophisticated in the work that they do, and they expect to see that same level of excellence from their local government. We wanted to meet that level of expectation; it was the stated goal from the beginning.

Where CivicPlus is going, building solutions to help de-silo governments and offering integrated systems out-of-the-box is incredible. It makes our jobs easier and more impactful, so keep it up. We appreciate you. You make my life easier.

Small-town newspapers continue to dry up. Local governments need to communicate their message to citizens because people may not have access to that information through traditional media sources. We need to be that platform.

At CivicPlus, the software works, and the people work harder. The people at CivicPlus know their customers. You can rely on them. Whatever your challenge is, they have seen it before and can leverage their knowledge to help you build a better solution.

Especially for small governments like ours, we have such a high workload, and there are so many things that we are striving to do for our community, that automations which eliminate busy-work that takes up so much time are helpful.

The fact that all the products integrate with each other is incredibly important to us. For example, we moved our online code book to be hosted by CivicPlus’ Municode Codification. Now all those codes will feed into Community Development and are also searchable on our website, as well as any documents. This suite of products helps to provide a seamless experience for our residents, especially as CivicPlus continues to build out the CivicPlus Portal, which provides a central platform where they can log in and see all the things they need with the county. Being able to have these tools in place that are scalable and allow us to communicate and be transparent is important for the county and important for our citizens as well. It does take some work, but I think at the end you’re going to say, ‘I can’t believe we didn’t do this sooner.

CivicPlus has helped us improve relationships with our community members and build trust in a number of ways. First and foremost would be our town website. We’re able to keep communications and information current and accessible.
